Hike along the rim of Wadi Ghul for uninterrupted views of a 1,000-meter drop.
The W6 Balcony Walk is a 7 to 8-kilometer round-trip hike along the edge of Oman's Grand Canyon. It takes roughly three to four hours to complete. You do not have to pay an entry fee.
The path hugs the canyon wall and requires sturdy hiking boots. Start your hike early to avoid the harsh midday sun. Bring at least two to three liters of water per person.

The hike begins at this small mountain village. You can park your vehicle here before starting the trail. Locals sometimes sell traditional goat-hair crafts near the starting point. Arrive early in the morning to secure a parking spot.

The path offers continuous views of a canyon plunging nearly 1,000 meters deep. There are no fences or safety barriers along the cliff edges. Keep a strict watch on children at all times while walking.

At the far end of the trail, you will find ruins of stone and mud houses clinging to the cliffside. Villagers abandoned this settlement in the late 20th century. You can walk through the old terraced farms where they once grew food.
